Privacy Policy – Dump: Smart Task List

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Overview

Dump: Smart Task List ("Dump", "we", "our") is designed to help you quickly capture and organize tasks with minimal friction. We take your privacy seriously and aim to collect as little data as possible while still improving the app experience.

This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.

Data We Collect

Usage Data (Product Interaction)

To improve app functionality, usability, and reliability, Dump collects anonymous usage data related to how the app is used. This data may include:

  • App launches and session events
  • Screen views and onboarding steps
  • Feature interactions (such as button taps or task creation actions)
  • Anonymous session identifiers
  • App version, platform, and environment (e.g., iOS, production)
  • Optional, user-declared install source (such as TikTok, Instagram, Friend, App Store, or Other)
  • General country or region (derived from network information)
  • Subscription and purchase events (such as starting a free trial, subscribing, or completing a purchase), including the product identifier, price, and currency. Apple processes the actual payment; Dump only receives confirmation of the event.
  • If you grant App Tracking permission (see below), your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may be included with attribution and conversion events sent to TikTok.

Aside from the IDFA (when permission is granted), this data does not include personally identifiable information.

Data We Do Not Collect

Dump does not collect, store, or require:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses
  • Account logins or profiles
  • Contact lists
  • Photos, videos, or stored audio recordings
  • Sensitive personal data (health, financial, biometric, or similar)
  • Payment card or banking information (purchases are handled entirely by Apple)

Voice input used for speech recognition is processed only to perform the requested action and is not stored as audio recordings for analytics or tracking purposes.

How We Use Data

The limited usage data we collect is used solely to:

  • Understand how features are used
  • Improve onboarding and usability
  • Identify and fix bugs or performance issues
  • Make product decisions that improve the app experience
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing — specifically, which install sources lead to installs, trials, and subscriptions — so we can decide where to invest in advertising

We do not build advertising profiles about you, and we do not use the contents of your tasks, voice input, or any personal information for advertising.

Third-Party Services

Dump uses a small number of third-party services to operate the app and understand how it is used:

  • Mixpanel — product analytics. Receives the anonymous usage events described above so we can understand how features are used.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management. Processes subscription state on our behalf so we can deliver the correct entitlements to your device.
  • Apple — payments, App Store distribution, and (where available) on-device speech recognition. Apple's own privacy policy governs how it handles this data.
  • TikTok — advertising attribution and conversion measurement (see the next section).
  • Apple's SKAdNetwork — a privacy-preserving framework Apple uses to send aggregated, anonymized install and conversion postbacks to our ad partners (currently TikTok and Meta's Audience Network). SKAdNetwork does not share your IDFA or other identifiers with ad networks.

Dump does not sell user data and does not share data with data brokers.

Advertising, Attribution & App Tracking

Dump runs paid ad campaigns (for example, on TikTok) to help people discover the app. To know whether those campaigns are working, we use the TikTok Business SDK to send a limited set of conversion events to TikTok:

  • App install and app launch
  • Free trial start
  • Subscribe
  • Purchase (with price and currency)

On first launch, iOS will show Apple's App Tracking Transparency ("ATT") prompt, asking whether Dump may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites.

  • If you allow tracking: your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may be attached to the conversion events above and shared with TikTok so TikTok can match them to the ad you saw.
  • If you ask the app not to track: the IDFA is not shared. Attribution still happens, but only through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork postbacks, which do not identify you.

You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. We do not combine the contents of your tasks, voice input, or other in-app content with advertising data.

Data Retention

Anonymous usage data is retained only as long as necessary to support product analytics and improvement, after which it may be deleted or aggregated.

Your Choices

You can use Dump without creating an account or providing personal information.

If you have questions about data collection or would like to request deletion of analytics data reasonably associated with your app usage, you may contact us at: zpmakes@gmail.com

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
